Initial Records
For a single arch case (example: upper arch), capture the foundational scans that establish vertical dimension and opposing occlusion for proper articulation.
  • Scan upper gums (edentulous arch)
  • Scan lower teeth or existing denture in place
  • Order a bite registration

Wax rim bite block to properly articulate upper & lower arches for full arch restorations.

Visit 2
Bite Capture & Design Submission
  • Place the fabricated bite rim in the upper arch
  • Have the patient bite down naturally
  • Record the bite
  • Remove bite and mount onto upper 3D printed model
  • Occlude with 3D printed lower arch
  • Scan occluded 3D printed arches outside of the mouth
  • Install MUA abutments
  • Place the MUA Scan Body or Photogrammetry Scan Bodies onto abutments to capture implant placements
  • Scan upper with scan bodies in place
💡 Not sure about your scan accuracy? If you're using intra-oral scans, you can order a verification jig to confirm your tissue scan isn't overstitched. This ensures implant positions are captured correctly before moving forward. Photogrammetry scans do not need this step.
